To start you off, some of the files you’ll want to keep and keep updated include your passports, copies of birth certificates, cash, and a local map, indicating your family’s meeting place. Discard any document that has already expired and arrange the ones you keep by in a binder.
Clothing
In the same manner, discard clothes that no longer fit you. Make sure that there is seasonal clothing for everyone in the family. After the selection, fold each item the KonMari way and place them neatly in the kit. You may sort them by season or by a member into labelled bags.
Miscellaneous
In an emergency kit, medicine, food and water, belong to the miscellaneous category. Get rid of the things that have already expired and keep the ones with a clear purpose or at least, spark joy for you.
Sentimental Items
Finally, you’ll want to categorize your personal items as sentimental, which can include toys for your children, photos of your family and some books to read. But, remember, space is limited so you need to cut away the unnecessary.
